NATO Secretary General will meet with European arms manufacturers

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte plans to pressure European defense corporations and agencies to increase weapon production at the meeting to be held in Brussels.

Medianews.az reports that the information was published by the "Financial Times." The newspaper cited a NATO spokesperson: "The Secretary General regularly meets with the alliance's industry and financial institutions to stimulate increased production, innovation, and investment to meet our defense capability needs."

According to the newspaper, the North Atlantic Alliance is interested in ensuring that the European industry fulfills Washington's demands to increase defense spending, which is intended to reduce President Donald Trump's "anger" over allies not supporting the U.S. in the Middle East conflict.

The newspaper stated that representatives of corporations such as Rheinmetall, Safran, Airbus, Saab, MBDA, and Leonardo will attend the meeting. In addition to increasing the number of factories and workforce to boost the companies' productivity, special attention will be given to discussing the production of air defense and long-range missiles./Musavat.com
