The next meeting of the Accreditation Council was held. At the meeting, in accordance with the "Schedule for the Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions in the Calendar Years 2024 and 2025" of the Education Quality Assurance Agency, the results of institutional accreditation conducted at 7 higher education institutions and program accreditation in the specialties of "Primary School Teaching" and "Preschool Education" at 16 higher education institutions were discussed.
Medianews.az reports that the Ministry of Science and Education issued a statement on this matter.
It was reported that, based on the decisions made, Nakhchivan State University, Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, and Mingachevir State University were considered institutionally accredited for the next 5 years, while Sumgait State University and Ganja State University were accredited for the next 3 years.
The final result of the institutional accreditation evaluation for Baku Girls University was assessed as "not appropriate," and a decision was made to take the relevant measures in accordance with the "Rules for the Accreditation of Educational Institutions" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' Decision No. 167 dated September 28, 2010.
Regarding program accreditation, 6 programs in the specialty "Primary School Teaching" were accredited for 5 years, and 3 programs for 3 years; accreditation for 4 programs was decided to be re-conducted after 2 years to rectify shortcomings. The program of Baku Girls University was not considered accredited.
For the specialty "Preschool Education," 10 programs were accredited for 5 years, and it was decided to conduct re-accreditation after 2 years for 3 programs. The program of Baku Girls University also was not considered accredited, with the result "not appropriate."
It should be noted that after the decisions of the Accreditation Council, activity plans will be prepared and coordinated with the Education Quality Assurance Agency to ensure the implementation of the recommendations and guidelines set for the accredited higher education institutions and education programs.
