With the start of the strawberry season, experts have issued an important warning regarding the storage of this fruit.
Medianews.az reports that strawberries spoil quickly and lose their taste if not washed properly.
Experts recommend washing strawberries not in advance, but right before use. Fruit washed beforehand softens and spoils faster.
It is advised to use vinegar water to clean strawberries and keep them longer. For this, a little apple or grape vinegar is added to the water, and after the strawberries are kept in this mixture for 5–10 minutes, they are rinsed with clean water.
Proper drying of the fruit after washing is also important. Strawberries should be laid out in a single layer on a paper towel, not piled up. This method prevents excess moisture and helps the fruit stay fresh longer.
