Recently, artificial intelligence programs composing songs and even performing them have been observed. Such performances have also become a topic on social media in music. The question arises: can artificial intelligence replace singers and composers? Or can artificial intelligence lead to speculations and manipulations in the fields of singing and composing?

Answering Medianews.az's questions, Turkər Qasımzadə, dean of the Faculty of Arts at Karabakh University and composer, stated that artificial intelligence is a tool emerging in the new era that is constantly renewing: “Artificial intelligence functions open up wide possibilities before us. I am against fearing or being cautious about it. It is necessary to work with it, benefit from it, and use it as a tool.”
Regarding the issue of artificial intelligence replacing singers and composers, Turkər Qasımzadə noted that originality and authenticity stand at the essence of creativity: “That is, it has its unique aspects. The difference between artificial intelligence and a creative person is that artificial intelligence can analyze and learn what already exists and apply some of it. The emergence of a completely new work of art is the result of human talent and human intelligence. I think composers and musicians can benefit from artificial intelligence, but it is difficult for artificial intelligence to completely replace them.”

Turkər Qasımzadə emphasized that artificial intelligence is more a means of reproduction: “Artificial intelligence works on what already exists, learns and analyzes the existing technique, genre, style or their combination, performs the task given by the human, and produces something. The assignment of the task is very important. Here we face the human factor. For instance, the opening of a completely new path in academic music can arise from the human factor, not artificial intelligence. I believe the process will continue like this in the near future as well. Artificial intelligence programs will be a tool in the hands of composers, painters, and directors. That means it is possible to consider it as part of the artistic instruments.
Inevitably, artificial intelligence will take the task from the person composing, from the composer. I think composers will simply use these programs as a new tool. I also believe we will see many successful results of this.”
