The list of countries confirmed to participate in the "Eurovision 2027" song contest has been updated.
Medianews.az reports that 12 countries, along with the host Bulgaria, have agreed to participate in the contest to be held in Bulgaria: Germany, United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, San Marino, North Macedonia, Greece.
The contest, a project of the European Broadcasting Union which gathers public broadcasters, has seen Ireland and Sweden win 7 times since 1956, Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and United Kingdom 5 times, Israel 4 times, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Austria, Norway, and Ukraine 3 times, Spain and Germany 2 times, and Monaco, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Serbia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Portugal, and Bulgaria 1 time each.
Azerbaijan has participated in Eurovision 18 times. In 2008, Elnur Hüseynov and Samir Cavadzade secured 8th place, in 2009 Aysel Teymurzade and Arash took 3rd place, in 2010 Safura Alizade got 5th place, in 2011 Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov 1st place, in 2012 Sabina Babayeva 4th place, in 2013 Farid Mammadov 2nd place, in 2014 Dilara Kazimova 22nd place, in 2015 Elnur Hüseynov 12th place, in 2016 Samra Rahimli 17th place, in 2017 Diana Hajiyeva 14th place, in 2019 Chingiz Mustafayev 8th place, in 2021 Samira Efendi 20th place, in 2022 Nadir Rustamli 16th place.
In 2018 Aysel Mammadova, in 2023 Tural and Turan Bagmanov, in 2024 Fakhri Ismayilov and Ilkin Dövlətov, in 2025 the group "Mamaqama", and in 2026 Jamila Hashimova were eliminated in the semifinals.
