"Qarabağ" head coach Gurban Gurbanov gave interesting statements at the press conference held after the first match of the Azerbaijan Cup semifinal stage, which ended in a draw (2:2) against "Sabah".
Milli.A reports that the experienced specialist touched upon the tension that occurred on the field and his relations with the opposing coach Valdas Dambrauskas.
Gurbanov stated that he did not see the controversial episode between Elvin Cəfərquliyev and Zedadka:
"Indeed, I did not see the episode between Elvin and Zedadka. But this is a normal thing. Because football is a game of character and struggle. Some fans enjoy such tension. I have always stated that what happens on the field stays there. The incidents, aggressions, and thoughtless actions at that moment are purely due to the atmosphere of the game. I do not like to intervene in these later."
Expressing positive opinions about the opposing team's head coach, Gurbanov noted that there is mutual respect between them:
"Dambrauskas and I have always talked about football. He has valued our work. In turn, I have expressed my mutual thoughts that you really have a wonderful team."
Let us recall that the dramatic match ended with a score of 2:2 and the finalist will be decided in the return match.
