New details have emerged regarding the murder of 20-year-old Ümid Bayramov, who was stabbed in the city of Marneuli on April 2.
Oxu.az reports that local residents stated the conflict that caused the incident began at a wedding party held on March 26.
According to the information, 22-year-old Emin Yusubov, who is accused of committing the violent crime, threatened Ümid Bayramov with revenge on the day of the wedding itself. Yesterday, he called the young man near his home and cut his throat with a knife. According to witnesses, the severely injured Ümid lost a lot of blood and died at the scene. The witnesses say that although the young man tried to escape, the attacker caught him and killed him.
One of the residents who witnessed the incident described those moments as follows: "I ran out upon hearing the scream, many people had already gathered. They said one person was running away and the other was chasing him. The poor guy was trying to escape by jumping over the fence, but he couldn’t make it. He was caught and his throat was cut. From what I heard, the problem between them had started at the wedding. They had an argument at that time, and our neighbor said to him 'I will not forgive you.' That’s how he took revenge."
Another resident noted that the injured young man was asking for help for about half an hour, but no one could approach due to fear:
"Everyone was afraid because the killer was armed with a knife. When I arrived, he had already fled. People were even hesitant to call emergency services. I made the call, but it was too late – he had already died at the scene due to the deep cut in his throat."
On the day of the incident, the situation was tense at the central city hospital as well. After doctors were unable to save the young man’s life, a confrontation occurred in the hospital area.
