In Russia, students have created fake videos targeting their teachers.
Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
They opened a fake account on social media and distributed edited "news reports." The videos used real photos of the teachers, and the background voices and writings labeled the teachers as "pedophiles."
One of the teachers stated that these materials degrade his honor and dignity and that his photos are being used to create compromising materials against his colleagues. The videos spread widely among schoolchildren's chats, which made the work of the pedagogical staff unbearable.
On April 16, the teacher, together with a lawyer, filed a complaint to the regional Investigative Committee concerning defamation and violation of privacy (Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). An investigation is currently underway.
The South Sakhalinsk Education Department announced that preventive measures would be taken in schools.
