"We said goodbye to the Champions League, but we parted with our heads held high and hearts full."
Medianews.az, referring to Publika.az, reports that these words were shared by "Qarabağ" football player Kevin Medina on his Instagram account. The Colombian defender expressed pride in representing the Agdam club and Azerbaijan in the world's biggest club tournament:
"Representing the 'Qarabağ' club and Azerbaijan in the world's biggest club tournament was a great honor. We fought until the end, overcame difficulties, experienced unforgettable nights, and showed that with effort and unity, we are capable of competing at the highest level. Every match was a battle; we lived every moment on the field with passion and responsibility. Although our journey ends here, the sense of a mission fulfilled and the certainty that we gave our all on the field remain."
He also thanked everyone who was with them on this journey:
"I thank my teammates, the coaching staff, the club members, and most importantly, our fans who never ceased to believe and support us. You were our strength in every stadium, every minute. We leave stronger and more experienced. And we will come back better. I am proud of the path we have taken. This is not the end, but another step on our journey."
It is noted that "Qarabağ" ended their participation in the UEFA Champions League at the play-off stage. The team lost both matches against England's "Newcastle" club in this round - 1:6 and 2:3.
