KTM: "Last month, 88 people were poisoned, six of them died"

In February 2026, a total of 88 people were hospitalized in the Toxicology Department of the Clinical Medical Center (KTM) due to poisoning of various origins.

Medianews.az reports that KTM has released this information.

"As a result of timely and proper treatment measures, the condition of 82 patients stabilized, and they were discharged home for satisfactory outpatient treatment.

Among the patients, 33 were poisoned by pharmaceutical drugs, four by rodenticide, 23 by acetic acid, one by solvents, three by corrosive substances, four by allergic reactions, three by alcoholic beverages, 15 by carbon monoxide, one by anaphylactic shock, and one by an organic phosphorus compound and were treated accordingly.

All patients received specialized toxicological care, as well as intensive therapy and detoxification measures from the medical staff.

Despite the intensive treatment measures applied, unfortunately, it was not possible to save the lives of six males.

"The main causes of death were toxic conditions resulting from poisoning by drugs, alcoholic beverages, and acetic acid," the statement said.
