As winter approaches, increasing heating costs have become a concern for many citizens. However, an expert says that proper radiator adjustment both preserves heat at home and significantly reduces expenses.
Milli.Az reports that according to the specialist, each number on the radiator corresponds to a certain room temperature. But raising the device's indicator above 3 overheats the house and consequently increases natural gas consumption.
He stated: "Do not raise the radiator indicator above 3. This level keeps rooms ideally warm and does not increase costs. Only in the main room with a thermostat can it be raised slightly."
Ideal temperature for each room
Keeping the indicator between 2 and 3 is sufficient in bedrooms. This provides approximately 15-20 degrees of warmth in the room.
In living rooms, levels 3 to 4 give both comfort and economical results.
If you will be away from home for a long time, set the radiator to the snowflake symbol. This setting prevents pipes from freezing and stops unnecessary energy consumption.
