What percentage of men want the “Valentine's Day” to be canceled? – RESULTS ANNOUNCED

In Turkey, 43.2% of men and 35.7% of women want the tradition of celebrating February 14 as "Valentine's Day" to be abolished.

Medianews.az reports that this was shown by a survey conducted by Turkey's "Areda Survey" sociological research center.

The survey was conducted between February 4 and 12 across the country among 700 people (both men and women).

Those who supported the complete abolition of "Valentine's Day," both men and women, constituted 38.6%. 31.6% were against it. 29.8% said they were undecided about whether the tradition of "Valentine's Day" should be abolished or not.

The survey results revealed that generally, 63.6% of respondents view "Valentine's Day" more as a commercially-driven holiday.

15.4% of respondents said they feel totally financially pressured around "Valentine's Day." 29.1% reported experiencing such pressure partially. 31.6% emphasized that they have not experienced any financial pressure.

23.9% said they never celebrate February 14 as a holiday.

According to the survey results, 66.7% of people do not regard celebrating "Valentine's Day" as an issue that measures the seriousness of relationships.

78.3% do not consider expensive gifts as indicators of love. But there are those who do: 3.8%.

48.3% of respondents said that the images shared by those who celebrate "Valentine's Day" extravagantly and post it on social networks affect them to some extent. 51.7% emphasized that such posts do not affect them at all.

The survey also investigated the impact of "Valentine's Day" expectations on male-female relationships. 40.8% of respondents said such expectations cause them disappointment, 39.8% noted it happens sometimes. 19.4% said they have never experienced such a situation.

Participants were also asked which days they consider more significant than "Valentine's Day." 38.8% indicated wedding anniversaries, 37.9% birthdays, and 10.3% anniversaries of meeting someone.
