The early slaughter of large and small horned animals at a young age and low weight in Azerbaijan will be regulated by legislation.
Medianews.az reports, referring to APA, that this was reflected in the "Report on the Activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025," which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis.
It was noted that the draft "State Program for Ensuring Food Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2032" (the said State Program draft prepared by the Food Safety Agency is currently in the final coordination (visa) stage) includes measures for raising awareness to prevent the early slaughter of large and small horned animals, studying international experience on regulating the slaughter of animals by age and sex, and preparing proposals. The first measure includes the preparation and distribution of educational materials (booklets, brochures, etc.), and the second measure includes investigating factors that necessitate the slaughter of large and small horned animals at an early age and low weight, as well as considering sex, submitting legislative proposals for regulating the slaughter of such animals, and activities such as improving normative legal acts regulating this field.
