The ongoing war between the USA-Israel and Iran has entered its 17th day. Mutual attacks and harsh statements between the parties have further increased tensions in the region.
According to Medianews.az, the spokesman of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naini, reacted to US President Donald Trump's statement about the destruction of Iran's naval forces.
He stated that the Strait of Hormuz is completely under Iran's control.
Naini noted that in response to the enemy's naval attacks, the Iranian Navy targets military bases and combat ships with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles together with air forces.
According to him, some US combat ships located in the direction of the Sea of Oman have withdrawn from the region after Iran's cruise missile attacks and have probably been sent for repairs due to serious damage.
Naini also said that approximately 700 missiles and 3600 unmanned aerial vehicles have been used against US and Israeli targets so far. He added that some of the missiles used are old models and Iran's newer weapons have not yet been employed in the battle.
The Iranian official addressed the US president:
“Trump says they destroyed Iran's naval force. If he has the courage, let him bring his ships to the Persian Gulf.”
Naini stated that the war can only end after acceptance of Iran's military and public power and emphasized that the attacks will continue.
Recall that on February 28, the US and Israel struck various military facilities in Iran. In response, Iran carried out certain attacks on targets in Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain, where US bases are located, alongside Israel.
According to Iranian officials, the number of dead as a result of US-Israel attacks is 1,348, and the number of injured exceeds 17,000.
