Apple plans to increase the RAM capacity of the "iPhone 18" series by approximately 50% compared to the current models.
Qafqazinfo reports that this information was published by the "Bell" publication.
It is reported that in the current "iPhone 17" series, the "iPhone Air," "iPhone 17 Pro," and "iPhone 17 Pro Max" models are equipped with 12 GB of RAM, which is 4 GB more than their predecessors.
This increase in memory capacity is related to the growing demands of artificial intelligence processing. Nonetheless, the main "iPhone 17" remains the only new generation model with 8 GB of RAM.
According to the information, Apple intends to standardize the specifications of the "iPhone 18" series and eliminate the 8 GB configurations. The company has already requested Samsung to increase the supply of LPDDR5X chips, which are only available in 12 GB and 16 GB configurations. Apple is also in negotiations with SK Hynix and Micron to expand the supply of mobile DRAM.
