In New Delhi, the capital of India, the attack of a stray cow on a young child playing in the street caused panic. The child was rescued thanks to the prompt intervention of neighborhood residents.
Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred in the Tughlakabad district of the city. Footage captured by security cameras shows the cow chasing the child, knocking them to the ground, and striking them with its horns.
Hearing the child's calls for help, residents immediately arrived at the scene and drove the animals away. The injured child was taken to the hospital. Doctors stated that the child's condition is stable and there is no threat to life.
After the incident, the two attacking cows were caught by municipal workers and taken to an animal shelter.
Local authorities have admitted that in recent years, the number of stray large horned animals in New Delhi has rapidly increased, turning into a serious safety problem. Officials announced that supervision over illegally operating dairy farms will be strengthened and strict measures will be taken against violations.
