The government spokesperson added that preparations are underway for participation in the World Cup.
It should be noted that some time ago, the Minister of Sports, Ahmad Donyamali, stated that Iran would not participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ahmad Donyamali said that the security conditions are not suitable for the national team's participation in the competition.
US President Donald Trump declared that he did not believe the participation of the Iranian team in the World Cup was appropriate in terms of their life and security.
