The house where Hitler was born There was a police station

In Braunau-am-Inn, Austria, a police station has been opened in the house where Adolf Hitler was born.

This was reported by the "Reuters" agency.

It was reported that the Austrian authorities handed over the building to the police to prevent it from becoming a pilgrimage site for neo-Nazis.

According to the information, the state forcibly took the house from its previous owner in 2017 after a long dispute. Previously, a charity organization assisting disabled people operated in the building. In 2019, it was decided to renovate it and turn it into a police station.

In front of the building, a memorial stone brought from the Mauthausen concentration camp has been placed, with the words "Fascism - Never Again" written on it. Hitler's name is not mentioned on the monument.

Stefan Mlyčox, head of the history department of Austria's Ministry of the Interior, stated that the goal is to remove the symbolic meaning of the building related to Hitler and to dismantle the mystical approach formed around it.

It should be noted that although Adolf Hitler was born in that house in 1889, he lived there for only a few weeks. During the Nazi regime, an art museum operated in the building, and the structure was known as "the house where the Führer was born"./Axşam.az
