The Ministry of Emergency Situations has addressed citizens who head to water bodies over the weekend.
Medianews.az reports that the address says:
"As reported, today and tomorrow throughout the country, including Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, scorching heat will be observed, with temperatures expected to rise to 41 degrees in some areas. Under such weather conditions, especially on weekends, citizens usually flock en masse to water bodies to rest.
However, it must be regrettably noted that the failure of some citizens to observe the relevant safety rules ultimately leads to tragic outcomes.
In this regard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again appeals to citizens who head to water bodies for rest and cooling purposes and reminds them of the importance of adhering to the relevant safety rules.
It should be remembered that swimming in areas not designated as beaches, including canals, rivers, ditches, and other water bodies, as well as swimming beyond the marked boundaries of the swimming zone, and entering the beach with boats or small vessels other than rescue equipment is prohibited. Children must not be left unattended at the beach, and the warnings and signs, as well as the calls and demands of lifeguards, must be strictly observed. Standing continuously under the scorching sun and entering the water after dark are dangerous.
Remember: Ignoring the rules is a danger to our lives!
In case of emergency, call 112!"
