Former "beauty queen" Karolina Flores Gomez was found dead in her apartment in Mexico City.
Medianews.az reports that Gomez, who had a gunshot wound to the head, is suspected to have been murdered by her mother-in-law.
The Mexico City prosecutor's office has classified the case as intentional homicide.
Gomez, who won the "Miss Teen Universe" title in Baja California in 2017, is believed to have been killed on April 15. According to police information, at the time of the incident, she was at home with her husband Alexandro Gomez and his mother Erika Maria.
A particularly notable point is that the police were informed about the incident a day later. This has raised questions about the reasons for the delay in reporting to the law enforcement authorities.
