US President Donald Trump has issued another warning to Iran.
Medianews.az reports that Trump said that if Iran does not comply with Washington's demands, “an entire civilization could be destroyed tonight.”
The US president also stated that there is still time for Tehran to withdraw, and the deadline is 8:00 PM this evening.
In recent days, Trump has been calling on Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz and accept the conditions regarding its nuclear program. Otherwise, he says, the country’s energy and transportation infrastructure will be subjected to wide-scale strikes.
The US leader had previously declared that Iran “could be completely destroyed overnight,” and Washington has a military plan ready in this regard.
At the same time, Trump emphasized that diplomatic channels have not yet been closed and said that if Tehran steps back before the ultimatum expires, it is possible to prevent a large-scale attack.
Iran, on the other hand, refuses to accept US conditions and proposes only the option of fully and guaranteed cessation of the conflict.
Currently, tensions in the region have reached a peak, and experts warn that the enforcement of the ultimatum could lead to a wider war in the Middle East.
