The Ministry of Emergency Situations regarding windy weather and the public applied to

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to the population regarding the expected windy and unstable weather conditions in some areas.

Medianews.az, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, reports that the appeal states:

"According to the information from the National Hydrometeorology Service, in the coming days, strong winds will occasionally blow in a number of areas, heavy rain will fall in some places, short-term floods will occur in some mountain streams, and lightning is forecasted.

Taking the above into account, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again reminds the relevant safety rules.

Thus, during strong winds, it is advised to stay away from light constructions and temporary buildings, buildings and advertising boards, and not to stand under electric poles and cables or tall trees.

In addition, considering the difficulties that strong wind may cause in extinguishing fires, fire safety rules must be strictly followed especially during windy weather conditions. Also, even small vessel users should note that going out to sea is prohibited under such weather conditions.

Also, to protect from floods and landslides that may be caused by heavy rainfall, it is recommended to stay away from flood- and landslide-dangerous areas and, if faced with this danger, immediately move to a nearby high place.

At the same time, to protect against dangers related to lightning, it is necessary to disconnect electrical devices from the network, avoid talking on the phone (landline, mobile, payphone, etc.), not to approach electric lines, lightning conductors, metal bars, and antennas while outdoors, not to shelter under tall trees, and to choose relatively low-lying places for this purpose. When in a car, stop the movement, roll up the windows, and wait for the lightning to end," the information said.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations recommends calling 112 in case of danger.
