Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has addressed the nation regarding the initiation of a military operation in Iran.
News24.az reports that Netanyahu thanked US President Donald Trump during the address.
"Brothers and sisters, citizens of Israel, just one hour ago, Israel and the US launched an operation to eliminate the existential threat posed by the terror regime in Iran.
I thank our great friend, President Donald Trump, for his historic leadership.
For 47 years, the Ayatollah regime has been shouting "Death to Israel," "Death to America." It has shed our blood, killed many Americans, and committed massacres against its own people.
We must not allow this deadly terror regime to obtain nuclear weapons that would enable it to threaten all humanity.
Our joint actions will create the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their fate into their own hands.
The time has come for all parts of the Iranian people – Persians, Kurds, Azerbaijanis, Balochs, and Ahvazis – to be freed from tyranny’s oppression and to lead Iran to freedom and peace.
I appeal to you, citizens of Israel, to obey the instructions of the home front command. In the coming days, the "Lion’s Roar" operation will demand patience and high spirits from all of us.
We will stand together, fight together, and together ensure the eternity of Israel," the address stated.
