The "Meta" company is investing billions of dollars in the development of artificial intelligence technologies designed to surpass human mental capabilities in the future. A new AI model will soon be used in the "WhatsApp" messenger and the "Instagram" network, both under "Meta's" control.
Medianews.az reports that the new artificial intelligence model called "Muse Spark" is the first product of the team rebuilt at "Meta" last year and aims to advance the "Facebook" network in the global competition against rivals like ChatGPT.
The "Meta" company has announced that "Muse Spark" will initially be accessible only through the rarely used "Meta AI" application and its website. In the coming weeks, it will replace the previous "Llama" models used in "WhatsApp," "Instagram," "Facebook," and the company's data glasses.
According to "Meta's" statement, the new model has been deliberately developed to be small and fast, yet it can answer complex questions in the fields of science, mathematics, and healthcare. "This is a strong foundation. The next generation is already under development," emphasized "Meta."
After the announcement, "Meta" shares initially rose slightly. U.S. technology companies are increasingly under pressure: they are required to prove that their large artificial intelligence investments are paying off. For "Meta," the risk is particularly high: last year, the company hired Alex Wang, the head of "Scale AI," as part of a $14.3 billion deal.
"Meta" has also created a new team called "superintelligence" by attracting engineers with salary packages worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This team is working on the development of machines that surpass human thought.
