In Armenia, two commission chairs and one secretary were detained.

The parliamentary elections that started in Armenia began to be accompanied by serious violations of the law and arrests from the first hours. It has been revealed that in several polling stations in the country, commission members did not come to work, and the leadership was detained in a special operation at night.

Medianews.az, referring to nocomment.az , reports that the chairman of Armenia's Central Election Commission (CEC), Vaahn Ovakimyan, made an official statement about this.

According to the CEC chairman, while polling stations nationwide opened their doors to voters, serious shortcomings were recorded overall: "Out of the 2005 polling stations available at the time of opening, a total of 50 commission members were not present at 48 stations. At three different polling stations, the leadership did not come to work. Specifically, two station chairs and one secretary were detained by law enforcement agencies at night."

Although detailed information about the exact reasons and charges for the detention of the commission leaders has not yet been provided, it is reported that operational measures were immediately taken to ensure that the incident does not affect the progress of the voting.
