Criminal case against Durova details

Each of the more than 10 charges brought against Pavel Durov, co-founder of "Telegram," within the investigation conducted in France carries a prison sentence of up to ten years.

Medianews.az reports that Durov shared this information on his own "Telegram" channel.

"Macron's France is losing its legitimacy because it uses criminal prosecutions to stifle freedom of speech and privacy. I am under investigation in France: there are more than ten charges against me, each carrying up to 10 years in prison," he said.

Earlier, the businessman also emphasized that, in his opinion, France is the only country that holds social platforms criminally responsible for granting users a certain degree of freedom.

Recall that Pavel Durov, who obtained French citizenship in 2021, was detained at Le Bourget airport at the end of August 2024 upon disembarking from a plane. He faces several charges related to organized crime. Specifically, he is accused of failing to take measures and inactivity in preventing the dissemination of criminal content on "Telegram."

Since the end of last August, Durov, who has been in France, has been banned from leaving the country.//Bakıvaxtı.az
