Donald Trump: We no longer need Britain.

US President Donald Trump stated during a phone call to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer that Washington no longer needs British bases for operations in the Middle East.

Medianews.az reports that "Axios," citing sources, released this information.

An unnamed source quoted the White House leader as saying: "You should have proposed this before the war. Now it is too late."

The conversation took place on March 11. Alongside the US President and the British Prime Minister, other leaders of the G7 countries also participated.

Donald Trump had previously sharply criticized Keir Starmer's stance, accusing him of damaging the special relationship between London and Washington. Additionally, he expressed "great disappointment" towards the British Prime Minister, stating that his approach to transatlantic relations was not that of "a second Winston Churchill." According to "The Daily Telegraph," such statements may indicate a severe deterioration in relations between the two countries. The White House leader had called Starmer "defeated."

Trump's dissatisfaction arises from London's initial hesitation to allow the use of British military bases for military operations against Iran. Although Starmer eventually permitted the use of the UK's air bases, London clarified that it would not participate in the attacks by the US and Israel against Iran.//Telegraph
