According to the official report, as of April 1, 2026, the population of Azerbaijan has reached 10,268,165 people.
Medianews.az, citing the State Statistics Committee, reports that in the first quarter, 20,362 births, 15,019 deaths, 8,203 marriages, and 4,614 divorces were recorded; 964 people came to live permanently in Azerbaijan, and 493 people left the country.
Per 1,000 people, there were 8 births, 5.9 deaths, 2.1 natural increase (birth-death ratio), 3.2 marriages, and 1.8 divorces. Compared to January-March 2025, births decreased by 9.1 percent, marriages by 27.3 percent, divorces by 5.3 percent, while deaths increased by 5.4 percent.
