New details have emerged about the armed attack at an event attended by US President Donald Trump.
Medianews.az reports that the attacker conducted reconnaissance at the hotel where the venue was located one day before the incident.
The incident occurred during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner held on April 25. New released security camera footage shows Coul Thomas Allen, identified as the attacker, surveying the area before the attack.
Prosecutors stated that this footage indicates that the attack was premeditated. The footage also shows the suspect on the day of the event coming face-to-face with a Secret Service agent in a hallway where he was hiding. The agent waits briefly but leaves the area without noticing the attacker.
About 12 seconds later, the armed individual attacks the security checkpoint. It is reported that one law enforcement officer was injured by gunfire opened by the attacker during the incident.
