The new government of Lithuania includes 14 ministers: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defense, Minister of Justice, Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Finance, Minister of Economy and Innovation, Minister of Energy, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Transport, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Minister of Science, Education and Sports, Minister of Health, Minister of Culture, Minister of Environment.

Medianews.az reports that the cabinet members were appointed on July 6 by President Gitanas Nausėda upon the presentation of Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius.

The position of Minister of Labor and Social Protection was given to former Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė.

The government in the country is formed based on the results of the parliamentary election. In the election held in October 2024, the winning Social Democratic Party formed a coalition with the Neman Dawn Party and the Alliance of Democrats for Lithuania, and in December Gintautas Paluckas took office as prime minister.

Due to being involved in corruption scandals, Gintautas Paluckas resigned in July 2025 and also stepped down as chairman of the Social Democratic Party; in September, a new cabinet was formed under the prime ministership of the Social Democrat Ingrida Šimonytė.

On June 6, 2026, the Neman Dawn Party left the coalition, necessitating a government reshuffle. On June 18, the Social Democratic Party, the Alliance of Democrats for Lithuania, and the Union of Peasants and Greens signed a coalition agreement. On June 23, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė’s resignation was formalized, and on June 30, the president obtained the parliament’s approval and appointed Mindaugas Sinkevičius, chairman of the Social Democratic Party, as prime minister.
