"Eurovision 2026": countries that have not made a choice

According to the information as of March 3rd, 9 out of the 35 countries participating in the "Eurovision 2026" international song contest to be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria, have not yet determined their representatives: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, France, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Sweden.

Medianews.az reports that in the first semi-final (May 12) Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Croatia, Israel, Sweden, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Greece will compete, and in the second semi-final (May 14) Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Armenia, Switzerland, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Romania, Ukraine will compete.

From each semi-final, there are 10 tickets to the final. Germany, Austria, Great Britain, France, and Italy will join the contest in the final (May 16).

In the "Eurovision" contest, a project of the European Broadcasting Union, which has been held since 1956, Ireland and Sweden have won 7 times, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and Great Britain 5 times, Israel 4 times, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Austria, Norway, and Ukraine 3 times, Spain and Germany 2 times, Monaco, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Serbia, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Portugal 1 time.

Azerbaijan has participated in 17 contests, achieving 8th place by Elnur Hüseynov and Samir Cavadzade in 2008, 3rd place by Aysel Teymurzade and Arash in 2009, 5th place by Safura Alizade in 2010, 1st place by Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov in 2011, 4th place by Sabina Babayeva in 2012, 2nd place by Farid Mammadov in 2013, 22nd place by Dilara Kazimova in 2014, 12th place by Elnur Hüseynov in 2015, 17th place by Samra Rahimli in 2016, 14th place by Diana Hajiyeva in 2017, 8th place by Chingiz Mustafayev in 2019, 20th place by Samira Efendi in 2021, and 16th place by Nadir Rustamli in 2022.

In 2018 Aysel Mammadova, in 2023 Tural and Turan Bagmanovs, in 2024 Fakhri Ismayilov and Ilkin Dovlatov, and in 2025 the group "MamaQama" did not pass the semi-finals.
