Established in 2015, the architectural award "Prix Versailles" publishes annual lists of the best projects in categories such as hotels, restaurants, airports, and train stations.
Medianews.az reports that "Prix Versailles" has announced the list of the world's most beautiful hotels for 2026. This year, 16 hotels, each "perfectly adapted to the local landscape," were selected.
Seven of them are in Europe. Jerom Quaden, Secretary General of the Versailles Award, stated that all projects included in the list of the most beautiful hotels in the world for 2026 embody a lifestyle based on charm and innovation and are perfectly adapted to the local environment.
The list of Europe's most beautiful hotels for 2026 is as follows:
"Sir Prague" - Located in Prague, Czech Republic
Situated near the Vltava River, the "Sir Prague" hotel is housed in a building dating back to 1884. Many original elements such as stone facades, iron balconies, and wooden parquet floors have been restored, and the interior is designed with selected vintage furniture.
"Chiemgauhof Lakeside" Leisure Center - Located in the Übersee region of Germany.
This leisure center in Germany offers panoramic views of Lake Chiemsee and was chosen because its design combines "Bavarian heritage, modern hospitality, and living in harmony with nature." It was designed by the "Matteo Thun" studio based in Milan, and its interior is made from natural materials with Japanese influences.
"La Fondation" - Located in Paris, France.
Located in Paris’ 17th district, "La Fondation" was designed by "PCA-Stream." The original layout and materials of the building, along with green walls, terraces, verandas, and hanging gardens, create harmony with nature. An example of serene luxury, it meets all the requirements and expectations of a 5-star hotel.
"Les Roches" - Located in the Le Lavandou region of France.
Another selection in France, "Les Roches," is a seaside resort located in Le Lavandou. Built in the 1930s, the hotel creates the impression of a ship floating on water. There you can find artworks by contemporary artists that turn the hotel into its own small museum.
"Villa Dubrovnik" - Located in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
"Villa Dubrovnik" was originally designed in 1961 by the famous Croatian architect Mladen Frka. The interiors were restored by Artur Casas Studio using materials such as limestone, plaster, cotton, and oak to create a natural color palette.
"Orient Express La Minerva" - Located in Rome, Italy.
"Orient Express La Minerva" is situated in the center of Rome, in a palace dating back to the 17th century. Architect Hugo Toro was inspired by one of the world's largest railway lines for the decoration, and Prix Versailles describes the hotel as the embodiment of timeless, restrained luxury.
"Splendido, Belmond Hotel" - Located in Portofino, Italy.
The hotel reopened earlier this year after 18 months of renovation. Located in a 16th-century Benedictine monastery, the project by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio represents "a perfect blend of Ligurian heritage and modern elegance." This exclusive summer residence, "Villa Beatrice," is inspired by "Art Nouveau" and "Gothic Revival" styles and is situated on the slope of a green hill overlooking the Portofino harbor.//BAKU.WS
