On April 8, the barrel of Azerbaijani oil branded "AzeriLight" is sold at 140.68 dollars.
In the state budget for 2026, one barrel of oil is accounted for at 65 dollars; "AzeriLight" started January at 65.71, February at 69.72, March at 79.60, and April at 132.35 dollars.
Medianews.az reports that oil sharply increased in price during the military operations carried out by the US and Israel against Iran from February 28 onward. By Baku time, a ceasefire agreement was reached between the US and Iran overnight leading into April 8. The first phase of talks between Washington and Tehran will start on April 10 in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
The obtained ceasefire agreement is expected to lower oil prices.
