The match took place in the city of Pamplona at the El Sadar stadium, and the goal scored in the final minutes decided the outcome of the game. The goals that brought victory to the home team were scored by Ante Budimir from a penalty in the 38th minute and Raul Garcia in the 90th minute. The only goal for the Madrid representative was scored by Vinicius Junior in the 73rd minute.
Arda Güler, playing for "Real Madrid," started in the lineup and after spending 82 minutes on the pitch, he was replaced by Dani Ceballos.
"Osasuna" had not won in the last 21 matches against "Real Madrid" in La Liga (6 draws, 15 losses). The Pamplona team ended this long-term unsuccessful streak by celebrating a victory over their long-time rival after years. "Osasuna," undefeated in the last 6 rounds, increased their points total to 33 and ranked 9th in the league table.
"Real Madrid," whose 8-game winning streak ended, remains at the top of the league table with 60 points.
