From AQTA to entrepreneurs WARNING

In recent years, the significant increase in interest in sports nutrition and biologically active food products (BAFP) has further increased the responsibility of entrepreneurs operating in this field.

Medianews.az reports that the Food Safety Agency, addressing entrepreneurs, states that the production, import, and sale of these products must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation. In particular, entrepreneurial entities engaged in the unregistered and illegal sale of these products through social networks must align their activities with the requirements of the legislation:

- Sports nutrition and BAFPs imported into the customs territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and meeting food safety requirements must necessarily have an import health certificate issued by the Agency;

- The processing and circulation of BAFPs is permitted only after state registration by the Agency;

- The production, processing, and circulation of unregistered products is prohibited by law.

It should be noted that entrepreneurs must provide all necessary documents regarding the origin, composition, and safety of the products they put up for sale, strictly comply with labeling rules, and prevent misleading information to consumers.

Control measures in this area by the Agency continue. If violations of the legislative requirements are detected, appropriate measures will be taken.
