"Apple" and "Samsung," Chinese companies, have filed claims against "Xiaomi," demanding that the advertising campaign in India, where the products of the brands are directly compared with "Xiaomi" devices, be stopped.
"Report" reports that this was stated by "The Economic Times."
"Xiaomi"'s advertising campaign in India covered both traditional and digital media. On the front page of the "Economic Times" newspaper, under the headline "Think Different? Think Again," there was an advertisement directly comparing the "Xiaomi Pad 7" tablet with "Apple"'s iPad Pro. The text refers to "Apple"'s iconic slogan "Think Different."
Banner advertisements are also spread on social media, where the "iPhone 16 Pro Max" camera contrasts with the "Xiaomi 15 Ultra" camera—the Chinese device has the advantage.
On social media, "Xiaomi" has adopted a similar strategy against "Samsung," directly criticizing several models of the Korean technology giant. In official comments, representatives of "Apple" and "Samsung" called the campaign "demeaning" and stated that if "Xiaomi" does not abandon its current marketing strategy, they will take legal actions.
Indian laws allow comparative advertising but with one warning: the comparison must be objective, based on facts, and must not be mocking or degrading.
