US President Donald Trump said at a press conference held today at his residence in Florida that during the operation against Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, the US military could have killed him if necessary.
According to Medianews.az, Trump said this scenario was real: "It could have happened. He was trying to move to a safe place. You know, that shelter is completely made of steel. But Maduro did not manage to reach that steel door because our people were very fast."
According to the US president, American soldiers quickly overcame the resistance and moved through, despite facing serious opposition. "There was strong resistance, quite a bit of shooting happened."
According to information, Nicolas Maduro is currently being held on a ship belonging to the US Navy. Shortly before the press conference, Trump also shared a photo of Maduro on that ship on social media.
