Maria Corina Machado, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, announced that the hour of freedom in the country has arrived and that they are ready to take over the government.
She stated in her declaration:
"Venezuelans, the hour of freedom has come. Today we are ready to fulfill our mandate and take over the government.
To Venezuelans within the country: Be ready to carry out the instructions that will be conveyed to you very soon through our official channels.
To Venezuelans living abroad: What we expect from you is to mobilize governments and citizens around the world, ensuring their participation in a major operation which will be aimed at building a new Venezuela.
In these critical hours, I send you all my strength, confidence, and love. Let us all be alert and stay connected to experience this moment together.
Venezuela will be free!"
