Since September 10, restrictions have been imposed on taxi orders from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to the capital. Some interpret this as the creation of a monopoly within the airport area by two state companies managed by the Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding (AZCON) - "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) and "Baku Taxi Service" LLC - reaching an agreement.
Is the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan investigating this issue? If an investigation is underway, when will the results be announced?
Medianews.az website sent an information request to the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control with these questions.

In response to the website's inquiry, the Agency stated that the main procedures for carrying out state control measures, including investigations and inspections, to ensure compliance with competition legislation are set out in the Competition Code: "Currently, the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is holding meetings with the relevant market entities regarding this issue, discussing the legal and economic aspects. At the same time, norms established in other sectoral legislative acts and those existing in international practice are being analyzed. The analyses conducted by the competition authority in this direction aim to shape the behavior of market entities within a framework of dynamic regulation and to protect consumer rights."
