Medianews.az, referring to Foodinfo.az, reports that specialists emphasize that foods eaten in the morning or after a long break have a direct impact on health. According to the information, endocrinologist Margarita Belousova notes that especially the consumption of fatty and fried foods on an empty stomach is risky for the stomach and digestive system.
These types of foods cause the muscle located between the stomach and the food pipe to relax, resulting in acid reflux – that is, a burning sensation.
The specialist also points out that spicy foods on an empty stomach can also irritate the stomach lining. In healthy individuals, this condition causes only short-term discomfort, but in people with stomach diseases, it can lead to more serious symptoms.
In addition, foods rich in simple carbohydrates – pastries made from white flour, candies, and sweet breakfasts – are also considered dangerous.
Such products cause blood sugar to rise rapidly and then drop sharply, which creates a feeling of hunger quickly.
According to the doctor, the continuous habit of this can lead to metabolic disorders, including an increased risk of diabetes.
At the same time, since such foods do not provide long-lasting satiety, a person wishes to eat again shortly after.
It is noted that although rarely consuming these foods on an empty stomach does not cause serious problems, the risk is higher for people with digestive system diseases and overweight problems.
Specialists recommend starting the day with balanced and light foods to stay healthy.
