An agreement on the cessation of war between the US and Iran and the framework for nuclear talks is approaching signing.
Medianews.az, citing US media, reports that the parties are close to agreeing on a 14-point memorandum.
The document envisages the cessation of uranium enrichment, lifting of sanctions, unlocking of frozen financial assets, and removal of restrictions over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the planned agreement, if negotiations are successful, a 30-day transition period will begin, and talks will continue in Islamabad or Geneva. During this period, Iran will halt its nuclear activities, and the US will release frozen billions of dollars.
However, all items depend on the signing of the final agreement. If the agreement fails, the possibility of resuming military operations remains.
The most contentious issue is the duration of the suspension of the nuclear program. The US demands restrictions lasting at least 12 years, while Iran commits not to produce nuclear weapons.
