Traditional showers will become history in the future – The first orders came from hotels.

In the near future, "human washing machines" may replace traditional showers. This futuristic technology is already on the verge of becoming a reality.

According to Milli.Az, a completely different system has been developed as a result of research on the concept of future showers in Japan. Instead of a regular shower head and water flow, a special capsule is presented that automatically washes, massages, and relaxes the human body. Essentially, this system operates like a kind of "washing machine" intended for people.

"The Future Human Washing Machine" combines ultrasound waves with artificial intelligence to personalize the washing experience. The device, developed by Osaka-based Science Co., was showcased for the first time at Expo 2025.

Visitors lie inside the enclosed capsule, and the entire cleaning process is carried out automatically. The cabin initially fills with warm water and fine air bubbles; the process is accompanied by soothing music and nature visuals. These bubbles clean dirt and dead skin cells without the use of soap.

Sensors analyze the user's skin type and mood in real time. Accordingly, light effects and scents are selected, creating a relaxing atmosphere. In the final stage, a water spray system removes all remaining residues from the body. The user does not need to rub or move during washing. The entire process, including washing and drying, takes about 15 minutes.

According to a survey conducted during the summer months, 77.6% of users rated this experience as "very satisfactory," and 21.1% as "satisfactory."

Originally not planned for sale, the company has already announced that they have received orders for 6 units from hotels in Japan.

The device's complex mechanical parts, large size, and difficulty of installation in existing homes significantly increase its cost. According to company representatives, the price of this system will be "close to the price of an imported luxury car."
