The next meeting of the "Coordination Council on Hunting Issues" was held at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

It was stated that based on the results of ecological monitoring conducted during the meeting and existing scientific indicators, a decision was made to declare the hunting season open from December 20, 2025 to February 1, 2026.
Service official Arzu Babayeva noted that considering the observed ecosystem changes in wetland areas, as well as the results of initial monitoring conducted on fauna, the hunting season was previously suspended earlier than the planned period:
"In a subsequent phase, repeated ecological observations, animal population counts, and evaluation of the wintering conditions revealed that population indicators for some species have stabilized, and the ecologically most sensitive phase of the birds’ wintering period has ended. Taking into account the existing scientific foundations, the results of monitoring, and the principles of preserving ecological balance, it was deemed appropriate to open the hunting season starting tomorrow."
