There will be no new war - Pashinyan promised

“According to my personal belief, by March-April 2024, we had reached the final limit of Armenian statehood. If we had not decided to start the border demarcation process with Azerbaijan in April 2024, Armenia today would not be an independent state but at most a territory under foreign rule.”

Medianews.az reports that this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the European Parliament.

“Making the decision on border demarcation was very difficult. One of the archbishops, encouraged by the actual head of our church, initiated a movement in Armenia demanding not only to avoid carrying out the border demarcation but also essentially to activate the Karabakh movement, that is, the conflict. Tens of thousands of citizens, addicted to the disinformation campaign led by high-ranking clergy who claimed that the Armenian government was preparing to give Armenia’s sovereign territories and ancient churches and settlements located there to Azerbaijan, and supported by opposition forces, took to the streets,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan stated that they will not allow a new war.

“We will not allow peace and independence, achieved at the cost of thousands of victims, to be sacrificed for anti-Christian purposes.” /Modern.az
