Official statements have indicated that the first tsunami waves have already been recorded and several consecutive waves may occur. It is not ruled out that the waves may arrive earlier or later than expected, and that they may be higher.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay away from coastlines and river sources and to remain in safe areas until the warning is lifted. Relevant organizations have been put on alert to assess potential damage.
