Recently, the consecutive fire incidents occurring especially in the regions have caused serious concern. According to statistical data, out of 1,522 fire incidents recorded in 2025, 1,085 occurred in the regions, and 437 in the capital Baku.
So, what are the main causes of the consecutive fires?
The video material prepared by Baku TV touches upon important points on the subject.
According to Jamil Khudiyev, Deputy Head of the State Fire Control Service, analyses show that 59.9 percent of fires occurred in the residential sector.
According to him, about 20 percent of fires were recorded in vehicles. The other 20 percent fall to trade, public catering, production, and other designated areas.
Jamil Khudiyev stated that among the main causes of fires, special importance is given to the non-compliance with fire safety and technical operation rules during the operation of electrical facilities. In addition, improper use of heating devices, gas leaks in gas facilities, fires resulting in explosions, as well as intentionally caused incidents are also among the reasons for fires.
