Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov and the head of the Russian government Mikhail Mishustin met in Astana.
Medianews.az, referring to "Report," reports that this was announced by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan.
In the talks, in addition to bilateral relations, joint efforts to protect the Caspian Sea ecosystem and implement environmental initiatives were discussed.
It was noted that Kazakhstan is in favor of systematic and coordinated cooperation among all Caspian littoral states aimed at preventing further decline of the Caspian Sea level and stabilizing the ecological situation.
It was emphasized that at the initiative of Kazakhstan’s head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a draft interstate program for the Protection of Caspian Water Resources is being prepared.
