Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has approved the request by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Gholamreza Mohseni-Ejei, for the pardon, mitigation, and commutation of sentences of individuals convicted of various crimes.
Bakivatı.az reports, citing the "Mehr" agency, that the Supreme Leader has granted the request from the head of the judiciary concerning the pardon or mitigation of sentences for 2,108 individuals convicted by general and revolutionary courts, military judicial bodies, and state penal institutions.
According to the information, Gholamreza Mohseni-Ejei in a letter addressed to Ayatollah Khamenei on the occasion of the month of Sha'ban and the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, requested the pardon or mitigation of sentences for those convicts.
