The US is determined for Iran to give up uranium enrichment.
Medianews.az, citing Musavat.com, reports that this was stated by the US President’s special envoy Steven Witkoff in an interview with Fox News. According to him, this is Washington’s "red line" in the negotiations: "Before going there (to negotiations with Iran - ed.), President Donald Trump gave instructions to me and Jared Kushner, marking the red lines - no enrichment, all material (enriched uranium - ed.) must be removed."
The US President’s special envoy noted that within a week Tehran will have enriched uranium at the level necessary for a nuclear bomb. Witkoff added that the US President is "surprised" at Iran’s refusal to "give in" despite the pressure created by the deployment of major American military forces to the Middle East.
