The school principal who was wanted internationally has been extradited from Turkey to Azerbaijan.
Information about this was provided to Medianews.az by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was stated that, in accordance with the requirements of the Convention on Extradition dated December 13, 1957, the request for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Sevinc Alisafa gizi Huseynova submitted by the Prosecutor General's Office was approved by the authorized bodies of the Republic of Turkey.
During the preliminary investigation conducted by the Surakhani District Prosecutor's Office in Baku city, there were substantial suspicions that Sevinc Alisafa gizi Huseynova, who worked as a school principal, embezzled a total amount of 69,000 manats from several individuals through fraud by abusing her official position.
For this reason, a decision was made to accuse Sevinc Huseynova of committing the crimes of fraud and abuse of official powers repeatedly, causing significant damage by abusing her official position, and since she evaded the investigation and went into hiding, an international search was announced for her. As a result of operational-search activities, Sevinc Huseynova was detained in the territory of Turkey.
Measures are being taken by the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice regarding the return of Sevinc Huseynova to Azerbaijan.
